IRS Extends Filing & Payment Deadline to June 15th The IRS has issued tax relief for those affected by the recent winter storms. The filing and payment deadline for 2020 returns due March 15th and April 15th has been moved to Tuesday, June 15th. The 2021 first quarter estimated payment deadline has also been moved to June 15th. The disaster declaration and subsequent relief affects any taxpayer with a Texas address or other states that received similar FEMA declarations. If your address is not in an affected area, please contact us as there are different steps to provide relief. If you incurred uninsured or unreimbursed losses caused by the storms, please reach out to us. These losses can be taken on the 2021 return or the 2020 return due June 15th. While this deadline provides relief, please do not wait to send in tax information. We want June 15th to be as smooth as possible. |
